Fahrenheit 451 Post

There is a man named Montag who works for a fire department. But the funny thing is, is that they don't put out fires, they start them. One day Montag was walking home and this girl named Clarisse McClellen walks with him all the way home. They talk for a really long time. Montag sort of thinks that Clarisse is kind of out there, if you know what I mean. But then Clarisse asks Montag a very simple but meaningful question. She says, " Are you happy?" (Pg. 39 in this book)
But then Montag had to think for a minute and he had realized later in the book that he wasn't happy.

He then was called to an women's house who was caught with a book and was ordered to burn it down. They tried to get the women out of the house but then she lit the match she had  and burnt the house, the books, and her all within a few seconds. Montag then realized that there was a book that wasn't burned yet. so Montag decided to take a big risk and hide it in his suit. But when he was done with work, he went home and laid down to sleep and slipped the book under his pillow.

The next morning, he woke up and told his wife Mildred that he felt ill and he couldn't go into work today. But then Mildred told Montag to call his boss/chief of the firehouse, Beatty, to tell him he wasn't going to be in but Montag said he couldn't. Then just in a matter of minutes of saying that Beattuy showed up at the door. Then he started asking Montag these questions on why he wasn't at work. he then started to give a lecture to Montag about why firemen are so important. Then Mildred started to clean the room and was trying to fluff Montag's pillow but Montag then tried to shoo he away. But Beatty already new Montag had a book, so Beatty told him,"... We let the fireman keep the book twenty-four hours. If he hasn't burned it by then, we simply come burn it for him, (Pg. 92 in this book)."
